He graduated Magna Cum Laude at Dartmouth College, and received numerous honors at SUNY, where he earned his doctorate in optometry. He is a past-president of the American Optometric Student Association, and was named Holistic Optometrist of the Year in 1985. He has held clinical staff positions at SUNY, the Optometric Center of Tokyo, Learning Disabilities Associates, National College of Naturopathic Medicine, as well as his private practice which includes patients around the globe.
