The media are controlled by the drug-warlords. Sir Christopher Hogg is chairman of GlaxoSmithKline, the world's #1 drug company and also of Reuter's, the world's #1 Media information source.

Nearly half of all articles published in medical journals are actually written by ghostwriters for drug companies.  Once the content is written, doctors
lend their names and reputations and take credit for the work.  The involvement of the drug companies and the ghostwriters is almost never revealed. 

Dr. David Healy of the University of Wales was compiling research on anti-depressants, and was approached by a medical writing agency who sent an article on the topic that was written by a ghostwriter.  When Dr. Healy suggested some changes, the agency sought out a different doctor.  Shortly thereafter, the ghostwritten article appeared in a
psychiatric journal in its original form with another doctor's name.
 
According to Healy, this type of deception is becoming more frequent and many medical journal articles written on drugs "are no more than infomercials paid for by drug firms."

Harvard Ph.D.s revealed the results of a 25+ year study of over 50,000 subjects: For every 2-hour increase in daily television viewing, women became more likely to suffer from obesity by 23% and type 2 diabetes by 14%.
