G. M. Swartwout, O.D.

Dr. Glen Swartwout is a leading authority in natural medicine, and a member of the Physicians Advisory Council®. Bringing strong academic credentials to his comprehensive approach to natural vision care, he is a magna cum laude graduate of Dartmouth College (A.B.) and earned his doctorate in Vision Science (O.D.) at the State University of New York with numerous honors.

Dr. Swartwout also holds a doctorate in natural medicine, a baccalaureate degree in divinity (B.D.), and fellowships in bio-photon therapy (F.C.S.O., Fellow in the College of Syntonic Optometry) and clinical nutrition (F.I.C.A.N., Fellow in the International College of Applied Nutrition).

Dr. Swartwout is past president of the American Optometric Student Association, and has served in leadership roles in numerous organizations, including the College of Practical Homeopathy in England, the American Academy of Acupuncture and Bio-Energetic Medicine and the College of Syntonic Optometry. He has served on staff at the University Optometric Center in New York City, the largest outpatient eye care center in the world, the Optometric Center of Tokyo and National College of Naturopathic Medicine in Portland, Oregon.

Dr. Swartwout is co-author of Interactive Bodymind Information System computer software for health practitioners and developed a computer program for natural vision care. Among his many accomplishments, he co-developed the “PC Lens,” the first patented ophthalmic lens technology to reduce Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS), and a computer algorithm to prescribe donated glasses in third world missions. He is currently developing an expert system for bio-energetic medicine.

Dr. Swartwout is author of Electromagnetic Pollution Solutions, and Biofields: The New Physics of Health, and co-author of Natural Eye Care: An Encyclopedia, as well as a contributor to Alternative Medicine, the Definitive Guide. He has contributed to numerous books, articles and research studies. In addition, Dr. Swartwout has produced over 50 reports, radio and TV shows, plus audio and videotapes.

Dr. Swartwout has been a speaker for the International College of Applied Nutrition, the Cancer Control Society, the National Health Federation, The International Biophysics Congress, The Gary Null Show and many other organizations. Having practiced in Tokyo, New York, Oregon, Hawaii and Mexico, he continues his clinical research at the Remission Foundation and the Hawai’i Center for Natural Medicine, while also serving as Director of Research & Development for Starfire International which distributes his line of over 60 personal and environmental health products.

Among many honors, Dr. Swartwout has been named Holistic Optometrist of the Year and Man of the Year, and is listed in numerous ‘Who’s Who’ references worldwide, including the Millenium Hall of Fame: The Century’s Hall of Fame for Select Nobility.
