: Shower-Filter

You absorb more chlorine through your skin in one shower than you would drinking tap-water all day. 90% of our chlorine exposure comes from the deadly Chlorine gas formed in a hot shower stall. Chlorine is a strong oxidizing agent, aging and degenerating body tissues. Chlorine makes skin dry and flaky, and hair dry and brittle. Chlorine especially irritates the sensitive membranes of the eyes and lungs.

Our shower filter uses the patented KDF copper-zinc alloy (manufactured by KDF Fluid Treatment, Inc.), the most effective media for removing chlorine from hot water. KDF's performance actually improves with increases of the water temperature, whereas the performance of carbon, used in some shower filters, decreases. Documentation of our filter shows removal of over 95% of the chlorine, for up to a year for a family of 2. This is 2 to 3 times longer than other filters. KDF can remove iron and other heavy metals, sulphur, and it controls mold and mildew in your shower. A unique feature of our KDF Shower Filter is the "Dial-A-Date" reminder ring. When you install it, rotate the blue calendar ring to line up with the current month. This reminds you when a year is up to ensure you are getting the best quality water and air possible as you enjoy your shower.

Our KDF Shower Filter installs in minutes, with no tools on any shower arm with standard 1/2" pipe threads. Just unscrew your showerhead from the shower arm, attach your showerhead to the end of the filter, and install the filter on the shower arm. This filter must be used with a 2.5 gpm or less showerhead for best results. The filter is 4" long and 3" in diameter.

Back-Washing Shower Filter

This shower filter uses the patented KDF copper-zinc alloy in a specially designed back-washable, replaceable cartridge. Tests show this filter removes over 97% of the chlorine for up to 12 months for two people. KDF can also remove low amounts iron, sulphur, and control mold and mildew in your shower. The special interior design of the filter causes the KDF to be swirled, increasing contact with the water, enhancing efficiency. The special design allows more head room compared to other filters, as it only lowers the height 1 1/2".

A unique feature is the "Quick Flush" back-wash. Simply twisting the cartridge to the "Flush" mark reverses the flow "back-wash" to release any sediment that can cause other filters to fail prematurely.
This filter should be used with a 2.5 gpm or less showerhead for best results (see our 2.0 gpm water-saver showerhead). For replacing the cartridge, unscrew the holding ring and just remove and replace the cartridge.

The dimensions are 6.7" tall X 3.75" diameter, with a housing of ABS plastic. Inlet: 1/2" female pipe thread, swivel. Outlet: 1/2" male pipe thread. To install, unscrew your existing shower head from the shower arm and screw on the shower filter. Then screw your shower head on the end of the shower filter.
