:Waco: The seige and assault on a Church in Waco left David Koresh and about 80 others dead. Had he know the Federal government's plan, the Sherif would have told them they could easily serve a warrant on David during his weekly trip to town, yet the plan was in the works for a long time. The federales had actually built and trained at a replica of the whole Church complex in another state many months in advance. Why did they choose, plan and execute this confrontation? David was on the payroll as a Federal informant and was one of the top licensed gun dealers in the country. But he also kept his own information files on people like Bill Clinton. Perhaps he had too much documentation on the cocain connection. Perhaps he wanted to be too much of a free agent. Mike McNulty's film, "Waco: The Rules of Engagement,'' was integral in forcing U.S. Attorney General Janet Reno to reopen the investigation into the government assault on the Branch Davidian compound. McNulty, a Navy veteran of Vietnam, says his second film, "Waco: A New Revelation,'' proves that U.S. military anti-terrorism experts were active in the attack. "What we have is a collection of evidence that they were operational and they were shooting,'' McNulty said. He says the film also debunks FBI assertions that government agents did not fire weapons during the April 19, 1993, assault that ended the 51-day siege. At one point, he says, the film shows government gunmen firing "in the general vicinity'' where 17 cult members were later found dead (many from gunshot wounds). McNulty discovered shell casings from a tear gas round that had incendiary characteristics, something the FBI had stated they had not used on the climactic day of the standoff. The FBI eventually reversed six years of denials and acknowledged its agents used the flammable tear gas grenades just hours before the deadly fire. The FBI says some bursts of light on heat-sensitive videotape of the assault are simply reflections of shiny objects. McNulty's analysis says that's impossible. The heat-sensitive tape was taken by an FBI plane hovering over the scene. McNulty says he obtained a better, earlier version of the tape through Freedom of Information Act requests. McNulty says there are 16 flashes per second, consistent with automatic weapons fire, not random acts of nature. In another segment not shown Friday, he says the heat-sensitive tape shows shots being fired in the vicinity of where 17 Branch Davidians were found shot to death. The film includes statements from a retired U.S. military Special Forces member confirming that some of the people on videotapes and photographs located by McNulty were members of the U.S. military's counter-terrorism Delta Force. A former CIA agent who claims knowledge of a Delta Force shoot-out at Waco has been promised protection by investigators for a Senate committee after threats were made on the former agent and his son by federal law enforcement officers. The intimidation of the witness occurred last week when FBI agents warned the witness -- face to face -- that he was in violation of his CIA confidentiality oath and could be charged with "risking national security." Cullen told reporters that he learned from Delta Force commandos that up to 10 members of the secret Army unit were "present, up front and close" in helping the FBI in the final assault on the Branch Davidian compound. An expert consulted by "60 Minutes II" examined the tape and says the film does indeed show gunfire. Paul Beavers, an expert on the subject who had extensive experience with infrared imagery for the British army, said he had no doubts the FBI had fired on the compound. "There's some flashes there, which to me look exactly as if they're gunfire," Beavers said, examining the film. "They have all the right characteristics. There we go. There we go. Two rounds. It's what's called a 'doubletap.' It's what you expect a trained marksman to do, to fire two rounds within close proximity of each other," he added. "One, two - yep, it's not a glitch in the camera," Beavers said. "It's not the sun striking something. It's not swamp gas reflecting off the planet Venus. This is somebody shooting." "Congress was misled on this; there is no question about it," Assistant United States Attorney Bill Johnston told CBS before resigning today. Johnston fears the Justice Department has engaged in a cover-up. When citizens tried to bring a wrongful death suit against the government actors in Waco, FLIR (Forward Looking Infra Red) expert Dr. Zegel almost died of blood poisoning in March, another FLIR expert Dr. Allard almost died of heart attack in March, FLIR expert Carlos Ghigliotti died of heat attack in March or April and Waco Sheriff Jack Harwell died of "heart attack" in March. Dr. Allard died two days after the Sheriff. Jack Harwell, Sheriff of McClennan County (Waco) for many years, had called Branch Davidian and Waco Siege survivor Clive Doyle the previous week to say he wanted to meet with him because "the death of all the children (killed at the Waco siege of 1993) was starting to weigh on him." Harwell told Doyle that he wanted to meet with him to talk to him about the case and the trial and "some other things." Harwell officially died of a heart attack, though the floors and walls of his residence were covered with blood. Dr. Allard is the leading authority on infrared imaging systems, holder of three patents on FLIR technology, whose designs are in use in all US military aircraft and equipment that use FLIR. Allard has analyzed FLIR footage taken by British Special Air Services working for the FBI in 1993 and has concluded absolutely that the video clearly shows military death squads either Delta Force, Hostage Rescue Teams, or both firing with wanton abandon, hundreds of times into the Branch Davidian Church. Dr. Allard has stated, "this type of behavior, men running up and down the building, firing automatic weapons into a church is disgusting." Allard remains in critical condition after his stroke. Both of Harwell and Allard were to be key in proving that the Federal Government premeditatedly murdered the Branch Davidians and then systematically obstructed justice and engaged in huge cover-ups. Judge Walter Smith claimed that tests to determine if FLIR video taken over Waco shows gunshots directed at Mt. Carmel must be top secret to protect the "national security concerns" of the British government [false], which loaned the FBI the FLIR camera used (see the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, 2/14/00). However, four days later the Dallas Morning News (2/18/00) reported that the British government said they had no national security concerns regarding their FLIR technology. Judge Smith now says the reason for keeping the tests top secret is that the public has no constitutional right to know. The judge, who ordered the test and is presiding over surviving Davidians' wrongful-death lawsuit against the government, said the test "may be likened to a crime scene, which unquestionably may be closed to the public and the press in order to preserve the integrity of the evidence." But is the real crime a continuing cover-up of the original crime? The Associated Press, Dallas Morning
News, The New York Times and St. Louis Post-Dispatch said a private
field test "will only May 9, 2000 Rep. James Traficant said in Congress: "Mr. Speaker, Carl Ghigliotti, the 42-year-old scientist who investigated the Waco massacre, whose body has been missing for 2 weeks, was found dead. Ghigliotti is the man who flat out said, `The FBI is lying about Waco. The FBI did fire automatic weapons into the burning building.' Something is wrong here, Mr. Speaker. Records now show the FBI lodged an alleged or false child abuse charge against the Davidians. The FBI denied, then admitted, using tear gas. The FBI confiscated, then supposedly lost, vital autopsy evidence that would prove what happened in Waco. Beam me up. We have developed a stone cold police state in America...believe me, from Waco, Ruby Ridge, to Miami, Florida. Every American knows it, no one is doing anything about it. There must be a full investigation into the death of Carl Ghigliotti. I yield back the need to pass some oversight on this Justice Department and pass my bill, H.R. 4105." Rep. Traficant has since been silenced by the 'Justice' system. As former FBI Special Agent Dr. Frederic Whitehurst said: "There are times when you cannot keep your job and put alternative explanations for data on the table." Federal law bans military action against U.S. civilians, although for years recruits have been asked in an official Army survey if they would fire on fellow Americans if so ordered. General Wesley Clark was the 'man' who gave the order for the military to send the tanks in at Waco. Why does he want to be President? And more importantly, why would we? |
