About the Founder:
Glen M. Swartwout is a Doctor of Optometry, natural health practitioner,
author and lecturer. An honors graduate of Dartmouth College and the
State University of New York, Dr. Swartwout has practiced and held
administrative roles in Health related organizations in New York,
Japan, Oregon and Hawaii. In his innovative clinical work he has brought
together advances in biochemistry, biophysics, quantum biology and
other aspects of Energetic Medicine. Through this synthesis he has
specialized in creating individualized health programs for enhancement
of visual and cognitive function, and total well being. This clinical
expertise is used in the development and selection of exceptional
health enhancing products for distribution by Starfire International.
Dr. Swartwout has developed the Five Phase System of returning to
balanced Health as an educational program for his patients. These
five phases are derived from the Bioelectronics of Vincent. Professor
Vincent was a hydrologist and epidemiologist in the early 1900's who,
through the observation of the biophysical parameters of water and
its relationship to diseases, developed a method of evaluating the
biological status of an individual, between health and disease. Dr.
Swartwout has simplified this paradigm to serve as a guide to self-healing.

Electromagnetic Pollution Solutions
Electromagnetic Radiation (EMR) from everything that uses electricity
is apart of our way of life today. It also appears to be part of our
way of death. A german cancer hospital found that 90% of cancer patients
had been exposed to chronic EMR stress. EMR depletes biological energy,resulting

cancer, and most degenerative diseases. When two groups of animals
were exposed to the same carcinogen, only the group which were also
exposed to EMR produced tumors. Another study on cancer cells showed

One in three Americans get cancer. That figure was less than 1 in
100 before the use of electricity.
A recent study involving the entire nation of Sweden confirmed a direct
dosage effect of electromagnetic radiation (EMR) on leukemia. At 3

Televisions produce magnetic radiation. Magnetic radiation has been
linked to sudden infant death, leukemia, other cancers and tumors
in children. In adults it has also been linked to miscarriages and
birth defects.

It allows you to take actions that can reduce the incidence of health
problems resulting from very low frequency (VLF) magnetic radiation
exposure.
Most computer displays are generated by a Cathode Ray Tube (CRT),
which is essentially a high voltage electron gun pointed at the head
of the computer operator. Black and white monitors use 13,000 volts,
while color monitors use 30,000 volts. The CRT is the main source
of magnetic fields from computers. In addition, 60 Hz radiation is
emitted by a power transformer. This can be measured using ELF meters.
VLF radiation is produced as the ray of the electron gun sweeps across
the screen between 15,000 and 70,000 times each second. This is controlled
by horizontal deflection coils, which alter the path of the stream
of electrons by producing a magnetic field in the VLF range. Vertical
deflection coils operate at 60 or 72 Hz, producing another magnetic
field component in the ELF range. Just as the electrons in the CRT
are affected, ions in the human body are affected by these fields
which radiate out into space, and pass through the human body, inducing
currents in the tissues. In the case of ELF radiation, there is reasonably
clear evidence that 2.5 mG is harmful. The same level of current is
induced in biological systems by VLF fields at 0.01 mG as is induced
by 2.5 mG of ELF radiation. This is because the induction is directly
proportional to both the field strength and to its frequency.
People most at risk from magnetic field radiation include pregnant
women, children, the elderly, and anyone with poor health. Of the
36 million computer operators in the U.S., 24 million are women. Of
these, 12% are likely to be pregnant or become pregnant soon. Miscarriage,
low birth weight, and birth defects, such as hydrocephalus, have been
found at increased rates in these women in several studies. Children
watching black and white television have also been found to have an
increased risk of leukemia.
In general, over 100 studies now link non-ionizing electromagnetic
radiation, including VLF, ELF and other frequency ranges, to cancer
and other serious health effects. Laboratory studies have shown that
magnetic fields can trigger cancer in animals exposed to carcinogens,
as well as promote the rate of human cancer cell growth by as much
as 24 times in-vitro. The Office of Technology Assessment of the United
States Congress recommends prudent avoidance of magnetic radiation.
Sweden has already set standards for exposure. The means are available
to measure and reduce our exposure to these fields. When respected
public health figures such as the dean of a school of public health
estimate that one out of three childhood cancer cases may be coming
from power line radiation alone, and the biological induction effects
of television and computer radiation appear to be even greater, there
is no valid rationale for waiting to take preventive action.
Radiation-Free Smoke Alarms
Did you know that most smoke alarms are radioactive? It is illegal
to throw these units in the trash, as they contain hazardous waste
that is a byproduct of plutonium-241 in the production of nuclear
weapons. Then, through government subsidization (i.e. your tax dollars),
these highly toxic units are made to appear cheaper than Starfire’s
non-toxic alarms! The radioactive americium-241, up to 5 microcuries
in each unit, is enough to cause cancer if inhaled or ingested, and
this material can be released through tampering, crushing or burning!
And the half-life of the radioactivity is 458 years, so it will be
thousands of years until the radioactivity level in these units is
safe.
As if that weren’t enough reason to switch to radiation-free
smoke alarms, there’s more. Studies show that there are 10 times
more false alarms with radioactive smoke detectors, and 5 times more
malfunctions. Photoelectric models are the state of the art, detecting
smoke particles in the air by using a light beam. They are recommended
by Consumer Reports, and even the International Association of Fire
Chiefs. In smoldering fires, the most common and deadly problem in
our homes, our photoelectric detectors may warn you as much as an
hour before the radioactive units!
Since most retail stores only sell radioactive smoke alarms, you have
